Privacy Policy

Last updated August 25, 2026

This website, emilymcintire.com, is operated by Emily McIntire and McIntire Publishing Co. This page explains what information the site collects when you visit, join the newsletter, send a message, or enter an event or giveaway, and how that information is used.

What we collect

Cookies and advertising

This site uses cookies, small files stored by your browser that help the site function and help us understand how it is used.

We also use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API, measurement tools from Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. They record that a device visited this site and which pages it viewed. We use this to measure how our ads perform, to show ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited the site, and to reach new readers similar to our visitors. This means some of your visit information is shared with Meta.

You stay in control: you can adjust your Facebook ad preferences, opt out of interest-based advertising at optout.aboutads.info, or block and clear cookies in your browser at any time. We do not sell your personal information. If the advertising described above counts as "sharing" under the privacy law where you live, you can opt out using any of those controls or by emailing us at the address below.

Who we work with

A few trusted companies help run this site, and each one receives only what it needs to do its job: WordPress.com hosts the website, MailChimp sends the newsletter, Meta powers our advertising measurement, and Airtable hosts our event forms. They are not permitted to use your information for anything else. The website itself is designed, coded, and maintained by our software engineer at McIntire Publishing Co., not by an outside service.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. To make any of these requests, email us at the address below and we will honor it promptly. You will never be treated differently for exercising a privacy right.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as it is needed: newsletter details until you unsubscribe, contact messages for as long as we need them to reply, and event entries until the event and any prize delivery are complete. Advertising data shared with Meta is retained according to Meta's own policies.

Security

We protect your information using commercially reasonable measures. No method of transmission or storage on the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we treat your trust with care.

Links to other sites

This site links out to retailers, publishers, and other websites we do not operate. Once you leave our site, their privacy policies apply, and we encourage you to read them.

Children

This site is intended for adult readers and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
